I don't think he would have been in Pete Rose territory, but he would have been in the high 3,000's, probably getting close to 4,000. He's in my opinion the best contact hitter of the '90's-00's.

they are purely celebrating it for Ichiro, heavily take it basic. So ichiro has been enjoying in Japan and he comes over to MLB and could become a Rookie and so which you men do no longer opt to call him a Rookie? Its in actuality like a team calling up a participant from Triple A to come back play in the MLB, his first time in the MLB, hes a rookie. Eventhough regardless of how some years hes performed in Triple A hes nonetheless a rookie. Or look at Josh Hamilton, hes nonetheless considered a ROokie :)

Yes, i am sure he would have surpassed the 3000 hit club. He is the greatest hitter of this decade. I believe he could have held the record for most hits in a career. He has average power and can hit any pitch to any part of the field. HOW do you pitch to this guy and get him out consistently???????????

Unless he starts seriously losing speed (foot or bat) or suffers a miss-a-season injury, I think he'll play long enough to reach 3000 anyway.

I think if he came over here at age 20 or so it's not out of the question that he might get 5,000 hits.
