why did the hometown fans storm the field after their team loss?every time i see this video i ask myself this question.you would think the way they ran on the field ,that this game was in baltimore.

well do not excatly of this is right, but New York and Baltimore are not that far apart so maybe there were many Giants fans there. they might have had to divid the tickets 50/50 between the 2 teams. but have no facts on that.

It was considered" the greatest game ever" by many people for many reasons. First, it was played at the historic Yankee Stadium. Second,, many all time great players were on those two teams, 15 of them in fact are in the Hall of Fame now. Third, it was the first time the game was televised nationally,except in New York where it was blacked out since they were playing there. Finally, it was the first time a game had ended in a tie, thus it was the first game to have an overtime period. It was a very dramatic game involving 5 fumbles and 1 interception but, the signifcance was that it was the begining of the league reaching the national audience. Many fans, and players, were in awe that night because of this new exposure and the first dramatic overtime period ever being played. I hope this helps.
