I don't get any since I put both my home/cell phone numbers on the Do Not Call list. It is the best thing that I have ever done for my self.
Being on the do not call list, the only calls you get are from the following:
People you know
people you do business with/your creditors/
If you have like a business like Stanley steamer comes in to your home, these people can call you for a year and that is it.
Charities can call you.
Only certain people can call you, the site will tell you which ones may and which ones may not call you. I swear by it as it works. It is wonderful.
But, telemarketers are out. If they call you you can have them fined and you will get the money from the fine. All you need is like a phone number of the person/place that called or the name and I think the time that they called and maybe how many times they called.
Every time they call they can get another fine. And we are talking big dollars if they call you. And you are the person that is suppose to get the money.
http://www.donotcall.gov
All you need to do is go on line and register your phones and you will receive a notice that it was registered. Print a copy and save it for your records. I think it takes like 30 days for it to become effective. But believe me it is the best thing that I have ever done for my self.

People need to understand that its not the person calling you that has no control over who they call. Most telemarketing companies have an automated calling system that shows the caller a screen of information after the call-ee has picked up. Simply say, "Please put me on your Do not call list." Say exactly that. The whole wrong number thing doesnt work. Dont get mad at the people, they are just trying to make a living. The website works but you have to understand it. The government gives the list of new callers to the agencies every three months and then the companies have to go through and delete those numbers off their lists. Get it some time and have some understanding.

Dude: you got the wrong approach: you got to learn to have FUN with telemarketers:
Try hitting on them...
Find out their favorite color...
Want to really drive them crazy?
Tell him "just a sec", and go back to watching tv while listening to the receiver... every time the guy asks "sir... are you there?", say "Just a sec, I'm interested, but you caught me in the middle of something"... go back to watching tv...
Try to keep them on the phone as long as possible (my record is 23 minutes)
Remember: telemarketers make their money based on percentages and volume. They expect a half a percent success rate (1 hit per 200 calls), so the more calls they can make in a given time period, the more money they can make...
Your goal is to keep him waiting for you as long as possible, because the longer he's waiting for you, the longer he's not calling someone else, and the less calls they can make, the less money they can make.
If enough people keep them busy with nonsense, they'll go bankrupt.

Too many. If I get sick of them just say politely "Hang on a minute" ,then I lay the phone down and carry on with my usual chores. Let them waste their time!!!

none - if they call up what you want to do is say "can i put you on hold for a minute?" then bugger off and watch tv or have a bath etc - they soon learn to stop calling
or if you dont want to piss them off simply get a price plan to prevent them calling you
same goes with spammy junk mail - send them junk mail back using their freepost envelopes you get with the junk mail - then they get tired of getting junk mail and stop sending you junk as well

an average of one or two incompleted calls, where I'm usually still screaming for 3 or 4 seconds until I realized they abruptly ended the call themselves.
