With the front office still in place, and the general Tom Terrific still calling the signals.....you better believe it. No need for me to ramble on about this. I live in Houston Texas, but, I'm no fool. THe Pats are on a mission, and furthermore I really believe that they are going to come close to matching Miami's perfect season. When you factor in their management/ coaching/ administration, leadership on the field and the off-season acquisitions...it 's a done deal. In the words of Dennis Green (last year after da' Bears beat his squad) CROWN their aces!!!!!!!!!!!!Seriously, you can bank on this one.

No. They still have major questions on defense. Just adding Adalius Thomas and Merriwether is not going to solve them. Neither is adding an aging Seau. They particularly will have major problems against the pass, especially if Asante Samuel does not play for them. If he does, they still have big problems matching up defensively against teams like the Colts or Bolts. I still think they are instant AFC East Champs and much improved but I don't see a whole lot of dropoff for the Colts this offseason. Now, the Chargers had major turnover on their coaching staff. Yet, they are the most talented defensive team in the conference, have the best offensive player in the game and probably the best young QB in the game as well. Those people writing off the Colts just because the Patriots adding a bunch of receivers and one instant impact defensive player just don't understand the fact that even with all those new receivers, Brady is still not going to do anything more than what he has done the last three years. He is not going to be throwing for 50 TDs with the Pats going undefeated. They are going to have big problems defensively, and while the Colts won last year despite having the worst run defense in the league--and the worst defense ever for a SB champ (let's see Brady win with a crap defense and good offense)--if they stay healthy defensively and their young guys come through, I could see them repeating cuz they definitely still have the best offense in the AFC, if not the entire NFL.

I think the Chargers are the most talented, but I'd call their coaching, maturity level and experience suspect.
If you look at the whole picture, I'd say that New England has the best chance of going to and winning next years Super Bowl.
Colts- Lost a little in the off season and they have too many problems with the run. Jags might actually take the south from them this year.
Bears - still need a QB and an offense
Saints - They need to score on an elite Defense
Cowboys - Can they come together and play to potential?
S.F. - I think they're very good, but no experience, give them a few years though.

Easy question to answer!
The simple answer is NO!
They are a team that is talented, but not the best. They fall into the 3rd of 4th spot in the NFL.
The team that is most loaded for a run to the SB is the San Diego Chargers. (Solid returning core on offense and defense...great pickups from the draft...nothing missing even with coaching shuffle)
Second has to be the Colts.
Then you can think about the Patriots along with the Saints and maybe even Ravens.
PS: Great reasoning from PHMCD27!

I comprehend there is a awesome variety of discomfort because of this 300 and sixty 5 days's disappointing loss, yet be actual. What they did in 07' replaced into impressive. seek for communities attempting to get even for working up the scores. once you play at that time, you're observing achieveable injuries. They play in a susceptible branch. There are AFC communities on the upward push; Jag, Texans, Browns, Titans, plus Chargers and Colts are nevertheless a deep threat. (playoffs) achieveable playoffs, yet as quickly as back NO CIGAR! Sorry Patsy fan! purely useful be conscious your branch is susceptible and so is your schedule.

That remains to be seen. In the AFC there are probably 8 teams with a legitimate chance at the SB. Patriots would be one of those 8 without a doubt.

Ya,they loaded up their holes.
They got that LB o wats his name...oh ya ADALIUS THOMAS! and they got a Safety in case Harrison gets hurt again..Brandon Merriwether
Anyone who watches the Pats know the needed WRs-so they got em...they got Moss, Welker, and Stallworth
They got a new FB Sammy Morris who should be a nice asset to the team
It will also be exciting to see the explosive Lawrence Maroney in his second year
Brady should have a good year with all his new receivers
the D will definatly be better than last season with their fearless leader Bruschi and their big D-line
the O-line is also one of the best in the league
I think the special teams will be better with the new WRs and safety
the Pats are always conenders and they filled all their holes from last season

Only time will tell. They certainly seem to be loaded with talent this year. But the question is will the chemistry be there? Randy Moss isn't the best player to have when it comes to team chemistry. If you go by the example of the Yankees, having a team of superstars does not necessarily mean you are going to have a great team.

On PAPER. Reminds me of the old days with Tampa Bay(early 2000s or so) and I believe it was Porter, only remember it was one of the Steelers, who referred to them as PAPER tigers. Looked GREAT on paper but when you put them on the field it was another thing. I think when you look at teams like the Chargers and some of the others then it is to say they have one of the better teams but not sure it is the best. People think they are the best because the additions but we will see how it plays out ON THE FIELD.

In the NFL, everyone, without exception, has some weakness. My guess is that Coach Bellicheck will know how to manage all of their talent and hide their weakness sufficiently to beat just about anyone, so I'd say they'll be the best team. But it only takes one loss in an odd set of circumstances to knock the best team out (Chargers fans, am I right?)
I am pulling for the Pats. I'm a lifelong fan and am going to enjoy watching this season!

I definitly think they do, They already had a really good team last year. All they did was make t better' they got Adaleuis Thomas, Dante Stallworth, Randy Moss, Kelly Washington, Wes Welker, And veteran CB Tory James also with Asante Samuels returning for another season. And Marvin Harrison and eugene wilson are healthy with randall gay coming back.
