With all of the kidnappings, online predator shows, abuses, murders and rapes, how long is it going to take for this nation to come to the realization that we have got to take the reponsibility to protect not only our own children, but to watch out for others as well? Too many of the stories that you read or see on television about a child being hurt in some way, also has adults who suspected but did nothing. Adults who saw something that didn't look right, but turned away. Will we ever learn?

That this happens to children is very sad, but it is a human trait tht applies to a whole lot of things. Some people are afraid to get involved, afraid to get hurt, unsure that they would be believed. And in today's litigious society, they might not always be wrong. If you accuse someone of something and they turn out to be innocent, they might sue you. And there are people who would hurt you to keep you from turning them in. So it's a matter of bravery, and there will always be some people who are brave and some who aren't.

We will probably not learn. There are alot of people out there that turn people in for nothing at all, which is more than likely the reason that when they question something they choose not to take action... A sad fact but it is true. Yes you can say that if they have nothing to hide then there shouldn't be any problem. I have seen the same people get turned in to the authorities 15 times in one year and they are very good parents and someone that is a horrible parent get turned in 5 times and the good parent has the child taken away. Our system is sadly flawed!

Yr talking simple bystander effect.
I would say it isn't the crazy big brother type thing we need its more or less making our kids smarter, i mean **** man education is seriously declining at a hectic pace. Think about when you were a kid did you ever just get in the car with some one, if you did its cause yr parents were morons and didn't give two pennies where you were. THis country needs to open its eyes to much bigger things than ubductions, the reason we here so much about it cause sickos like to watch hour specials on child abductions, ratings thru the roof. **** is stupid WAKE UP AMERICA, there is a much bigger world out there than whats going on in yr bubble.

People just don't want to get involved. It's too bad that neighbors don't even watch out for each other anymore. It amazes me that if there's a wreck on the highway, everyone has to slow down and gawk at the disaster, but they suspect a child isn't being treated right and they don't want to get involved. It's a sad statement.

Its not only the citizens that need to wake up, but the authorities also. My daughter lives in a neighborhood and theres alittle boy, about 6yrs.old that wanders around by himself all the time. He's been taken from his mother several times and they always give him back,.. just to be neglected again. He's always hungry, dirty, and he has bruises in odd places. He walked into a womans house at midnight, asking to be fed. She fed him, then called the police to take him home. They did just that and nothing happened to the mother, again. It really is a messed up world!!!!

i just saw that online predator show..and i was amazed at how many people were showing up at this young girls house..there were people from all walks of life..you dont know who to trust..it seems as though we really have to start looking out for our children..do we really have to isolate our children to keep them safe?
