Yeah let's admit it Boston tanked up their games just to secure possible cornerstones, Oden and Durant, on their team. But now that backed fired and they seem to be getting what they deserve by having the fifth pick, should the Celts start rebuilding the team by trading Paul Pierce and adding additional good pieces? Good explaination would get the best answer... So try to convince me with your arguments.

Boston has already been rebuilding from what seems like 10 years now. Even if they do trade their pick for someone, they're still not going anywhere next year...unless they can get a big name like Kevin Garnett or Jermaine O'Neal. Besides Pierce and Jefferson, this team is nothing but a bunch of busted 1st round picks. If I were the Celtics I would make some kind of trade for someone who can complement these two guys, like a veteran point guard or two guard that can score. Boston really messed up last year when they traded for Telfair when they could have had Brandon Roy (Ouch!). Rajon Rondo, Telfair and West are just not gonna cut it in the backcourt, so it's definitely time for change. If Boston chooses to stay with the pick at 5, then I would select Corey Brewer, who I think will be a special player in this league...To answer your question, yes the Celtics should rebuild their team...again.

First off, I wouldn't call Oden or Durant cornerstones. Immature kids that did good in college against subpar teams and struggled against good college teams that suck compared to the worst NBA teams, don't mean cornerstone to me. What did Oden do against Florida, he looked like a kid fighting for his life. There is so much talent out there, just because you never heard of someone, doesn't mean they can't be an impact on your team. Boston will do fine with the 5th pick as long as they pick the right player for the team. You can't look at how good a player is you have to look at how good of a fit that player will be on your team. Take half the guys now and switch teams on them, are they still as good, or have they gotten better. A fast paced guard does not fit in with a slow paced team. Get the point. With that said, I would definently trade Pierce and also trade the 5th pick. They could get 5 picks this draft to work with if they play their cards right. This is a pretty good draft too and having that many young guys, they can only learn to play with each other and get better. Look at Detroit, no stellar players, but they have chemistry from playing for so long together.

Yeah I actually think they should get rid of "THE TRUTH". Question is though, if they do, then what will they get for him that is of equal value???? I mean, no offense but PP34 for Kobe would seem like a good trade, but I would definetly not do it, because of what attitude he brings (as a crybaby). However I do see them rebuilding very well (G.Green, D.West, A.Jefferson).

O. and the 5th pick will probably be a big man. Say um..........either Yi Jianlan (7 foot chinaman), C.Brewer (A Paul Pierce clone), B.Wright (same thing, but with a 7-2 wingspan), J.Noah (big man with an attitude) or A. Horford.

Either way, they will not screw up with their pick. And they will rebuild themselves fine.

i think the Celtics are going to be alright in a couple of years they have some really good young talent and they should trade Paul pierce for being a little whinny *****, he wants to win now and trade good young players for veterans that will be gone in a couple years, which will make it worse because they will be back in this mess again, i think there on the right track and as long as they don't draft yi who i think to be a softer yao ming they will be good, you watch in five years they be as good as the spurs are now

didnt peirce say he wants to stay in boston and didnt he get a extension?
If Peirce wants to stay in boston would they trade him?
if they trade him its all over for boston.
they have no guy to build around, no matter who they draft.
the best thing to do is trade thier pick for some veterans and pick up some free agents if they have the cap room.
They have some youngs guys in there that could play and bring in some veterans can shpare them up.

trade paul pierce because its just not working. build the team around the youngn's like al jefferson. find a way to move telfair because lets face it, he's just too goddamn overrated. al jefferson averaged a decent 16ppg,9rbs last yr. i think he's got what it takes to be a franchise player.
