DUMP THE ZERO AND FIND A HERO! HE IS ABUSIVE. READ ALL OF THIS:
If A Man Really Wants You!
Ladies, I'll just let this speak for itself, its Deeppppp!
If A Man Really Wants You!
If a man wants you, nothing can keep him away.
If he does not want you, nothing can make him stay.
Stop making excuses for a man and his behavior.
Allow your intuition (or spirit) to save you from heartache.
Stop trying to change yourselves for a relationship that is not meant to be.
S l o w e r is better.
Never live your life for a man before you find what makes you truly happy.
If a relationship ends because the man was not treating you as you deserve; then heck no, you cannot "be friends".
A friend would never mistreat a friend.
Do not settle. If you feel like he is stringing you along, then he probably is.
Do not stay because you think, "it will get better".
You will be mad at your self, a year later, for staying when things are not better.
The only person you can control in a relationship is you.
Avoid men who have a bunch of children by a bunch of different women.
He did not marry them when he got them pregnant. Why would he treat you any
differently?
Always have your own set of friends separate from his.
Maintain boundaries in how a guy treats you. If something bothers you, speak up.
Never let a man know everything. He will use it against you later.
You cannot change a man's behavior. Change comes from within.
Do NOT EVER make him feel he is more important than you are...even if he has more education or in a better job.
Do not make him into a quasi-god. He is a man, nothing more nothing less.
Never let a man define who you are.
Never borrow someone else's man. Oh Lord! If he cheated with you, he will cheat on you.
A man will only treat you the way you ALLOW him to treat you.
All men are NOT dogs.

Is this the first time he hit you or hurt you in any way? If it is and you REALLY think he was only kidding, then it sounds like just a case of horse play gone way overboard. Show him the mark and see how he reacts.
HOWEVER, more than 1 time or any INTENT to harm you ever IS abuse and I would advise you to leave him at once, get a restraining order and find a safe place to stay with friends and family.

If you were fooling around and it was an accident, put ice on it and forgive him and both of you be more careful in the future.
If he hit you out of anger, tell him if it happens again, you are leaving because you won't stay in an abusive relationship. Respect and love yourself even if others don't.
And it might be a good idea for the two of you to go to counseling and learn how to discuss problems so you can handle things in an adult manner in the future and he can learn to get a handle on his temper.

First off, a guy should never hit a girl. Secondly, did you do something that you can honestly say you might have deserved it. If it was for no reason, there is more to come, if you threw away his $10,000 comic book or made out with his friend, you might have deserved it, even though he shouldn't have done it. You have to judge why he did it in the first place. Some guys tend to play rough with girls not realizing they can leave marks on you for half the hit they give their guy friends.

Why he hit you? did you say something which you are not supposed to? did you raise your voice?
Men wont simply hit a woman unless there is something happens... BUT if you didnt do anything wrong and he just hit you like that then he is sick.
Get rid of him.

depends on what happened before you were hit. My boyfriend accidently elbowed me in the eye when we were wrestling on the bed and I was trying to do that half nelson thing on him. He felt horrible and apologized, but it wasn't abuse.
