hmmmm
i see what you are saying. glenn was just out there. the misfits were the first horrorpunk band. they were amazing. it's a shame we have to put up with the non glenn misfits that are out now. glenn has one of the best voiced in music. he was in a punk band but could have sang opera if he wanted to. the misfits were pure evil. bands like alice cooper and ozzy osborne were mostly gimmicks, but the misfits were genuine.
but as more being influential, they weren't as influential as the great 70's band Styx. for my money it doesn't get better than Mr. Roboto. those guys were purely amazing.
i think a great concert would have been Styx/misfits on the same bill. maybe just maybe glenn would come out and sing with styx on "come sail away" for just a verse and then procede to kick the *** off every member of that crap piece of junk band.
yea, glenn rocked harder than anyone else.

There are tons of band that have been revolutionary. The trick is finding some of the music. Cause you sure won't find it on MTV or VH1. Or even your local radio station. Those mediums are tired of getting nailed by the moral media for content. So, stick with local shows and club concerts. You really have to ask yourself, what do you define as revolutionary? Cause there are tons of bands that have made huge marks in music since the original Misfits. Metallica, Korn, Rage Against the Machine, all bands that have changed the way people listen to, and interpret music.

Uh, Pink Floyd revolutionized Progressive rock and brought it to the mainstream in the 70's.
I would think they're the most revolutionary. They don't rock as hard, but they jam even harder than the misfits and their impact and influence is even more widespread and diverse.

Most of the good stuff is underground and is pretty much impossible to find on radio and MTV
If you want revolutionary:

Klaus Nomi is the epitome of revolutionary, although he was extremely underground

There are people out there, but the music execs don't want to hear it. They do all their recruiting from Disney.
