You should first decide which kind of rose you want (hybrid tea, landscape, floribunda, etc.) and then look at ease of care. The Jackson and Perkins(http://www.jacksonandperkins.com/) website details the color, strength of scent, type of scent, shape of the rose, etc. and ships almost everywhere in the USA and they have a great selection of roses. They have also developed a new process where the roses are disease resistant. Trust me, this is very important in high humidity areas unless you want to be continually spraying your plants with and all purpose fungicide to deal with the rust or black spot. You can also find a couple at most garden centers like Lowes Home Improvement or Home Depot by looking through the pots. Make sure that the metal tag name matches the paper tag name or else you might end up with a red rose when you thought you bought a purple one.
My personal favorite is the Sterling Silver. It is an oldie and has been around since the 1950s. It has a beautiful scent and the petals are a lovely light purple (called mauve by rose enthusists) and pretty dark green foliage. On the down side, it tends to be a little leggy (gets really tall and doesn't grow in width very much). Other than that, I've found it to me moderately disease resistant and easy to grow. Most of the scented hybrids are descended from the Sterling Silver, like Blue Boy. Angel Face and Moon Shadow are more reddish purples than bluish purples. Take your pick.

The Paradise Rose is a deep Purple/pink Rose and any of the "Blue" Roses are lavender/purple so find a nursery in your area that carries those types of roses and you should do fine.

Here is a link. They have a few shades of purple. I'm thinking of "Neptune" for my garden. Enjoy

Check out www.1800TOPSOIL.com or call 1-800TOPSOIL to see if they service your area. They're national and they deliver. I've used these guys in two states and they're very very good. And they're local. They had I everything I needed (and I look for some pretty obscure stuff.) They're probably your best bet.
