SO many labels for so many people. . . Instead of calling someone crazy...don't you think that maybe they just need a hug? and does that ,"normal," person really have it all together?

normal-conforming to a standard;regular; usual
crazy-insane or mad; foolish

Good question: I always say: "If you call yourself normal, then I'd rather be crazy" yeah, amazing what a hug can do to help alleviate, stress, loneliness, feelings of rejection, etc., esp when you really mean it. I think the people that really have it together are people that are close to God and always praying, reading the Bible, attending church, venting their problems to someone, etc.

Don't beleive there are too many "normal" people.. even the so called "normal" ones have a crazy side.. I would say it's when you can maintain the "crazy" in you then you are considered as a "normal" person. So many horrible crimes are committed by so called "normal" people and after they get caught then society wants to label them as "crazy"!

I have spent most of my life diagnosed as what most of your answerer's called "crazy". I asked a psychologist once, "What is normal; what are we aiming for?" during a therapy session. He refused to answer. Not one of your answerer's agreed that what "crazy people" (and all others) need to get well is a "hug". Yet, that is what has allowed me to live my life nearly like a "normal" person. Good therapy is mainly TLC because everyone is different and the cause of most "craziness" is lack of love.

Good luck, good health, peace and love!

If normalcy existed without craziness, it would die off. Mutation is an integral part of progress.
Normal does not imply 'having it together' as much as living within the boundries of society.
btw, I'm a mutant

The level I use to check out just how "normal" I really am, is when I measure myself, my actions and even my thoughts to those of Jesus, the son of God, which I got to know by reading the only book on earth which claims divine inspiration and the more it resembles his, the more I feel "normal" as a human goes. As for the rest, I can't speak for them. Thank you!

crazy is not a technical term. It is a generalized statement of people with mental disorders. Although it has even looser usage today as everyone says everyone is crazy. Indeed we are all crazy but this is not a helpful expression.

I worked at a group home with crazy people, but when we went places, people had a hard time wondering who was in charge.

Normal and crazy are both social constructs.

There is no such thing as normal or insanity. What is normal to you might not be normal to others. It is how you perceive life and how you want to live it. Care not of what others think for it is your life and yours alone.
