I have a good friend who is roughly that size. She had two very easy pregnancies and smooth deliveries, and now has 2 beautiful children.

Plus size women can have a healthy and safe pregnancy. Some things to consider.......
Your weight and fertility
Extremes in weight in either direction can impact your ovulation cycle which can play havoc with fertility. Are you currently ovulating? Do you know if your hormones are in balance? Many folks will suggest "loose weight before trying to conceive". Many women hear this and think they have to loose hundreds of pounds. This is not the case. If you loose just 5 to 10% of weight you often can restore your ovulation cycle and get pregnant easily.
Complications once you get pregnant
Gestational Diabetes and Hypertension
These both are possible complications. There are ways to avoid these issues through a healthy diet full of protein and veggies *low in carbs*. Trying to remain calm and stress free helps with the hypertension. Using hypnosis for diet and stress issues has had good results with women.
During Birthing
Plus size women are more prone to have a C-section. In one study women who weighed more than 300 pounds had a 32% chance of having a C-section!
If you do have a C-section there is often issues with plus size women healing because of where the wound is located. Overlapping skin can cause issues with the stitches.
What can you do to ensure a safe and healthy pregnancy given those facts?
Consult a doctor to ensure you are able to conceive and maintain a healthy pregnancy.
Find out in advance of getting pregnant if you already have diabetes or hypertension.
Visit a nutritionist who can help you learn how to eat healthy portions and choose good food.
Talk to your doctor about exercise and what you can do while pregnant.
Drink LOTS OF WATER!!! It is the miracle drink.
Cut out soda, sugar, chocolate, and caffeine.
Last but not least read and research the topic. Some books that can help you:
• Paula Bernstein, PhD, MD. Carrying a little extra a guide to healthy pregnancy for the plus size woman.
• Niels H Lauersen, MD, PhD and Colette Bouchez. Getting Pregnant What you need to
• know right now. New York, NY: Fireside. 2000.

If Pregnant. Obesity can some barring on your Pregnancy..
1. Lots Of Morning sickness that goes all day, in the 1st 3months.
2. *** your baby grows, pressure on the womb from your excess weight. in the last trimester you need to be very alert to symptoms of Diabetes,Toxemia.. Even slight swelling of ankles, feet, hands is an indicator. High blood pressure... You'll be hospitalised Pronto! Complete bed rest. This usually happens about week 30-32 depending on the individual. If left it would become Eclampsia That is extremely dangerous for you both.

Oh, no other backyard breeders by you to explode the dog population even more, sorry:( Have you seen the news, done any research, did you know that many small female dogs die from carrying and giving birth, especially chihauhaus?! Does she have papers? Is she a petshop dog? Has she won any shows-can mutts win shows? Do you have an experienced breeder or vet who can guide you? Did you know that it costs lots of money to breed? And that mutts go for a very low price? Have you everr bred dogs before? Have you ever been on this site and asked a question about breeding before? Didn't you know you'd be lectured? Do everyone a favor! Do hours and hours and hours of research, and when you think you know all there is, do some more because you don't! Breeding dogs is very, very complicated, and that's even more true for tiny dogs like yours! And research backyard breeding! Research how many mutts die each year in pounds! Research how much you'd make and spend, because you'll be losing money-trust me! Don't do it! Get your dog fixed and love her for real! Don't risk her life and don't add to the dog overpopulation-its devastating how many dogs are homeless, how many are neglected and abused, how many die in pounds because there isn't enough money or people to keep them ALL alive! Puppy mills and backyard breeders are a huge contributor to the problem-do you want to be one of them, honestly?!

Most plus sized women have a safe and healthy pregnancy though you are more likely to develop gestational diabetes, and plus you'll put on baby weight. It would be a good idea to try and loose some weight before trying to conceive if you haven't already so you can rule out the complications that come along with being over weight. If your already pregnant, eat healthy, take walks, drink lots of water, and watch your weight. Good luck!!

It will be very difficult, first to get pregnant and then to make it through delivery. But if you decide to do it, be sure you have an obstetrician who is a specialist at problem pregnancies. He will probably follow you much more closely than other pregnancies and will try to nip any problems in the bud.
Good luck!

You can have a healthy pregnancy as long as you listen to your doctor. Usually they advice bigger women not to gain as much weight as smaller women.

i think so but talk to your doctor about your risks and signs to watch for, and ask aobut things you can do to make things go more smoothly. you might be at risk for diabetes too so he might recommend an eating plan or something.
