You'll have to check with Dell to be sure, but I believe the fastest processor the Dimension 4700 can take is a 3.2 Ghz Pentium 4. I have a 3.0Ghz Dimension 4700 myself, so I can tell you for certain that motherboard doesn't support the new Core 2 Duo processors.

So you probably aren't looking at much of an increase. In fact, when pcworld reviewed this machine, the slightly slower processor scored better on the benchmarks.

The 4700 also comes standard with a weak 305 watt power supply, which must be replaced if you want to move to a high-end PCI-E graphics card. Fortunately you can find Dell-specific replacement PSUs at http://pcpowercooling.com

I think it also says "dual core duo" or something like that.

its Intel Dual Core 2 Processor.
coz its having double processor allowing to perform more than one action simultaneosly.

apart from that have a 1gb RAM, and most important have a 3D graphic card that will make you run all the things u want.
