Don't smoke or drink, always use sunscreen, make it a habit drink 12 glasses of water a day, get enough 'beauty' sleep no matter what (atleast 7hrs), eat fruits and veges daily, exercise atleast 3 times a week, stay at a healthy weight, and last but not least, there are beauty supplements u can take which are good for the skin, u can get them from any drugstore...these beauty supplements are usually a cocktail of vitamins, herbs and marine algae, it works really, really well if u already have a healthy lifestyle to begin with.
As for skincare, just make sure that your skin is always well moisturized, use an eye cream to prevent fine lines, and use a night cream that suits your skin type and stick to it...Olay works pretty good, I'm in my 20's and am using the Total Effects moisturizer with SPF...oh, and save the heavy make up for special occassions.

Don't wear skin makeup. Wear your lipstick and dust your oily spots with powder, but try not to do too much. Eyeliner for special occassions. Skip the mascara and curl your lashes.
Wear sunscreen of spf 30 or higher. Everyday.
Sleep 8-9 hours a day.
Manage your stress. Learn relaxation techniques.
Prioritize.
Get exercise. Walking after dinner for an hour helps.
Work out at least three times a week, 45 minutes each time.
Drink 8 cups of water a day.
Eat your 3-4 servings of fruits and vegetables a day.
Don't do drugs. Don't binge drink.
Be in love. With life, with a hobby, or with that special someone. It gives your skin a glow that no cream can.
Think positively. You will live longer, and be more optimistic about life. And about aging, too, hopefully. LOL

Monthly facials w/ great skincare can be immensely helpful. I have had facials for years & no one can tell that I am in my early 30's because I take great care of my skin.
Avoid the sun, use sunscreen if you are going into the sun, drink plenty of water, take vitamins & keep your skin hydrated w/ good moisture.
I now work as an aesthetician & I tell all my clients that home care is just as important as a monthly facial. There are tons of good skin care lines on the market. I love & use Source Vital which is an algae based product line. There is no perfect line so you may have to try out a few until you find what works best for you. Start w/ finding a great facialist & see what products they recommend you use & go from there.
If you want more help, feel free to e-mail me.

you don't have to spend a fortune on products.
Simple do a great cleanser, toner & moisturiser.
These are great for even the most sensitive skin.
Drink plenty of water & never go to bed with makeup on.
Some anti wrinkle products are really good, i have used nivea visage Q10 plus night cream since the age of 24, am now 34 & people say i really dont look it.
Have always moisturised too, & sometimes use Neutrogena pure glow cleansing cushions, one side gently exfoliates the skin & the other moisturises.
My face feels really smooth after that.
Start young & you will benefit in later life.

I find it intriguing that the people who wear the most make-up wind up with more imperfections to cover up. Wear a minimum amount of makeup (lipstick, a little eyeliner if it is an ultraspecial occasion.) Avoid sun, it dries and wrinkles. Drink lots of water and use lotion every night. Vitamin E oil around the eyes helps with circles and bags.
One of the main ways to prevent the ravages of pollution and age is to learn to relax. Deep breathing and meditation can help you keep your body young inside and out.
Diet and exercise also play major roles in the maintenance of youthful looking skin.
Wash your face every night and every morning. Brush your teeth, plaque can speed aging.
I have had a lot of experience with expensive creams and makeups. Usually the person pushing the makeup is wearing a lot of it to cover the damage they have done to their skin.
When using lotion, lightly massage it into your skin.

I saw a lady (I think she was a dermatologist) on 20/20 or primetime live or one of those shows. She kept her youthful appearance by wearing sunscreen all the time, big hats, long sleeves, etc. Basically, protect yourself from the sun as much as possible.

I don't know about all the cremes and all that good stuff out there but i remember someone telling me if you go to sleep extremely late you age faster in your face so avoid doing that if you do.
