A lot of celebs and actors have all they can have with money. You know the famous saying money doesnt make you happy. Of course when you dont have money you think baout it and it sounds like you could haev such a fun and wonderful life with money. But actors and clelebs have everything the world has to offer and they have all the money in the worls and in everything they have they realize how empty they are. And that money doesnt make them happy. So they get depressed and they pop some drugs get high and then on to worse stuff liek suicide.

I hate to break it to you, but being rich and famous doesn't make you happy. Yeah, its great and all, but money and fame never complete a person. As for having "everything to live for", thats just rose-coloured glass. Being a celebrity doesn't mean that you're suddenly excused from the difficult aspects of life. If anything, it magnifies the flaws and problems, which may in some cases, lead to suicide. Regardless, its really sad that people think that by becoming famous your problems disapear.

Why would they do it? Well, "being rich and famous" is not what you should live for. Those things do not make you happy. They do not make you feel fulfilled, or creatively challenged, or content with who you are, or any of the most important things in life. People want to believe that "if they only had what the rich and famous had, they could be happy forever," but that is not true at all. Money, material things, fame, acclaim, a lot of strangers knowing your name, etc does not fill the void within you. They are human just as anyone else is and they feel pain just like everyone else. And some of the celebrities have additional pressures that the rest of us do not experience typically. They are hounded everywhere they go by the paparazzi, people staying outside their house and they have no idea if it is a 'harmless' photographer or a lunatic stalker who can hurt them or their friends and family. They are surrounded by people who can lie to their face and stab them in the back. They don't know who to trust, if anyone. They don't know if anyone in their life is there for them or there for their celebrity. The business can turn its back on them in a second and they may not know if or when they will work again. There are the pressures put on them for their physical appearance. Their body becomes a commodity and they can get sucked into the idea of how they are 'supposed' to be. Fame and riches do not make these things any easier and you should not sacrifice your integrity and sense of self for cash and a phoney idea of acceptance. They are as susceptable to depression and suicidal feelings just like someone in the exact opposite financial class as them and everyone in between. We must find our own happiness no matter if we are famous and rich or not. We must know who we are and what we stand for. We must never compromise our principles. We must have a solid foundation of confidence that comes from within instead of trying to define how we see ourselves on the arbitrary and subjective standards of someone else's personal opinions. Those who do that are the ones who are content in their daily lives no matter what their circumstance. The celebrities who do not get caught up in the system and burn out are always the ones who have a life seperate from Hollywood and they remain grounded in normalcy. They know who they are and are not going to sacrifice that for their job. A good example is why Dave Chappelle left his show. Everyone said they could not understand why he walked away from a 50 million dollar deal, but he explained himself. He said that he was depressed and miserable and he felt that the show was not creatively what he wanted it to be anymore and it was being taken away from him. He always had jokes that dealt with racial issues and he realized that some of the sketches were crossing the line to the point that he was contributing to the very same racist ideas he was trying to fight against. He decided that he could not sacrifice himself, his integrity as a human being, and his sense of creative freedom just to bring home a big paycheck.

Mostly, they do not as their inflated egos would never allow them to do so.
Only icon that has been deemed to be an intentional "suicide" is not an actor, but a musician, which would be Kurt Cobain, the lead singer of Nirvana who shot himself in the head and had one previous, although not entirely verifiable, instance of attempting suicide.

Because they are depressed. They may be successful, but $$ isn't everything !! With success comes a whole other avenue of problems.... like notoriety, fame, the camera's ,,, the publicity, the scandals..... the " Out of the Lime-Light" interviews, having to be so careful of what to say and not say.....stress. ... and with that comes depression. Then they add prescription drugs, and alcohol into the mix, and then suicide just seems inevitable.

being rich and famous does not bring happiness. When you live in LA its a very lonely town. takes you out of your element and everything moves so fast that when you do take the time to look around, you realize how sad you life really is.

i don't think they do any more or less than the rest of society -- its just you hear about them because their famous -- and if you or i did it we wouldn't make the news.
i have mixed theories -- i think some weird forces push people into acting and when you are in center stage but too fragile to stay ahead of the game you go nuts like britney spears or worse.

b/c if you are at the point of gettting what you've always wanted, then you feel so happy that you feel like dying. when you go alot of money, you become more impulsive so suicide is a form of impulsive action as a way of punishing themselves from getting what they wanted.

i think that too many people are looking at them and worring about what they are doing and it becomes too much stress for them to handle and that is why they commit suicide.
