You may be starting early labor or possibly Braxton Hicks contractions (these are kind of warm up contractions) It's normal to have a lot of discharge because your body is getting ready by lubricating your vagina.

Because you're 2 cm already, it may start soon. The difference between the early contractions of early labor (usually) is that when they start "working", you will normally feel the tightening and contraction all the way down toward your botton, pelvic area, or cervix. You may feel like you are going to have diarrhea (or actually have it) or have to pee during the contraction.

When you notice that contractions are coming pretty frequently, then you can time them. But for the most part, you're okay as long as you can still walk and talk through a contraction. Beyond that, time to get to the hospital!

I was 17 when my first was born (she's now 27) You have a good thing going for you because you have the ability to really listen to your body during this process. You can trust it. And you can do this! Your body knows how...just trust the process.

Good luck!

I agree with most of the good advice above, but you should know one thing: even if you discharge your mucous plug, your body can produce another one. That one symptom by itself is not definitive of active labor, only a good indicator. The fact that you feel like you've started your period is a better indicator that labor could be starting. A general feeling of just not feeling well/right was my first indication along with the cramping and lower back pain. If you can call your doctor to see you and check you, that would be less stressful than going to an emergency room, where pregnant women are generally not the main concern. I'd hate to have you wait feeling bad while they deal with the car accidents and such. Good luck and may your labor be short and painless!

Discharge is probably your plug early contractions can feel like major cramps you may also have pain in your back. Definitely try to time them if your get really worried go in the hospital would Rather check you and send you home than you having a baby at home or something also call your doc someone is always on call for patients with problems I'd do that first so that he can know and give you advice

Lots of discharge could mean an infection.
If it is clear with a spot of blood or streaks this could be your mucus plug. This is a sure sign of labor to start.
You should be seeing your doctor 1-2 times a week right now.
You may be experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions, if they start to intensify or move to your back call your doctor.

I agree with everyone time to go to the hospital, your membrane plug has released itself. Rember to try and stay focused throughout delivery and breath allot in and out. I stayed in the shower allot for my first pregnancy felt good ont the tummy and the tub also. Good luck and maybe by tomorrow you will have a wee one in your arms.

Sounds like you are in early labor. Time any contractions you have, if they are 5 minutes apart or less get to the hospital

Contractions feel like strong menstraul cramps .. better start timing them and get read to go to the ER!
(the discharge means you probably lost your mucous plug!)
