You can tell by looking at any map if you are not familiar with the states. A peninsula is a piece of land surrounded on only 3 sides by water. The 3 U.S. states that qualify are Michigan, Maine, and Florida-check it out.

Michigan is actually two peninsulas. Alaska, Florida, and Wisconsin.
