Not all angels have Heximita by any stretch of the imagination. Angels are prone to it and may be damaged worse and more quickly than some other fishes, but they certainly don't all have it. No, it can't be passed to your birds. Heximita dies when dried and is fairly host specific in that it's a fish only disease. As long as you see no symptoms of Heximita in your tank I would say it's safe to assume you don't have Heximita in your tank at all. Some really bad info you managed to get hold of there and in all honesty you have nothing to be concerned over at all.

Do you have any signs of heximita in your tank? Heximita is a parasite. Usually found as an external parasite that you can actually see on your fish but there is also an internal variety that is harder to diagnose. The signs of the internal parasite can take months to even see. There is a slow wasting away of the fish as it looses it's appetite and the parasite grows stronger. In live bearers, you will probably see a reduction in offspring. As angelfish aren't live bearers, you won't see this so you would need to keep an eye on the overall health of the fish.

If you have signs of this parasite, then there are treatments available for it at your local pet store. If you do not have any signs, please don't put your fish through the stress of unnecessary treatment.

As for the birds, will they be eating your fish? If not, I don't think you need to worry about it.
