I would say the only thing that Bush has done right is boost the American steel industry by levying higher tariffs on foreign steel dumping. The higher penalties has made the American steel economy stronger by making junk foreign steel more expensive for American companies to buy therefore causing more American steel to sell. Companies such as Nucor, Steel Dynamics, and other local industries have thrived since the tariffs that Bush has passed. The only negative is that other countries such as China and The Soviet Union have threatened to stop buying US grains and corn. All in all, it has strengthened the US economy with almost no consequences.

Firstly, your English is pretty good. Not great, but definitely understandable. I've been in your shoes, I'm from Russia.
Anyway, I think the best thing he has done to date is refusing to withdrawal our troops for Iraq/Afghanistan. I can't say I've been a fan of his administration, but I have to admire his will to finish what we've started. I think it would end up being catastrophic to pull out at this point in the game.
I would also like to point out that probably 60% of the people who answer this question know little to nothing about the politics. Right now, not liking the president is a pretty popular thing to do, even if you're not really sure why exactly you don't like him.

Depending on what side of the political fence you sit on, you could say that his privatized social security idea and immigrations ideas are a decent asset to the country.
His staple was going to be the "No Child Left Behind" act which would greatly aid public schools. However it never was signed and so never received funding.
Bush will go into the history textbooks as one of the worst presidents in US history, and the saddest and more frustrating thing about it is the fact that it seems like he and his administration are oblivious to it.

He did something right??? I'm 1/2 joking. I heard he did something for native Americans. I remember being impressed (although short lived). My favorite thing about Pres. Bush is that I have never laughed so much during a presidential speech. Even though I loathe the man I have started looking forward to his fumbles. Especially when he said something about the OBGYN's (woman specialists) practicing their love of woman. LOL. That one still cracks me up.

Well, he strengthened this country when 9/11 happened.
He has tried to secure our country from terrorists.
He has helped give lots of money to help those in Africa who need help.
He has disappointed me a lot with this new immigration bill.
Your right, he isn't the best president. But, a lot has happened in this world in the past few years. He has handled these situations very carefully. Some of his decisions aren't very smart in the eyes of the people, but I'm sure he has the best intentions for this nation and the world.
Good question! got me thinking!

I think he has provided the world with some very humorous entertainment and helped to put the Dixie Chicks on the map. He makes me proud to be Canadian!
Sorry to all you Americans. You are fantastic people, but I don't get your president anymore than you probably get our prime minister
peace:)

He made me truly understand the futility of being politcally active. I give up.
Seriously, when one person can steal office and undo 30 years of work on the environment, foreign policy, etc..., I give up.

I believe George Bush is a very good president...
he prays for wisdom for leading our country,
he did a wonderful job when "9/11" happened, and he continues to do what he believes is necessary to protect ordinary people,
he truly cares for people -- when the media will actually show him at scenes of disaster, it's obvious he cares very much for those who are suffering,
he is not influenced by "popularity polls,
he and his wife Laura are a wonderful example of teaming up together in a marriage, and supporting each other.
You're absolutely right - he has done and continues to do many good things.

I have always been open to applauding him if he ever does anything good, or even right, but it has not happened yet. When...or I guess I should say IF...he ever does anything right, I will stand up and cheer for him. But I am not holding my breath.
