I've only know one Sage, and he is a boy. It is not a very masculine name nor a very feminine name. It can go either way. If you like it put it on your list to think about. When you meet a man with a girly name or a woman with a manly name, what do you think of them? And how do they feel about their own name? Is that the perception you want to label your child with?

I think either, girls usualy have the more exotic type names. Sage is an herb usually associated with healing, wisdom, and seasoning foods. So the name in this time could be used for either. Kind of sound like and earthy rockstar guy to me. But I think I would change it up for a guy

Well, we had a chow chow (big fluffy dog) named sage who was a male. And the name fit perfectly. But when naming a person, I think of sage as more of a girl name. It's more of a pretty name than a handsome one.

girl - but I have no reference, if it's for a boy, sometimes the child fits the name you chose and then it's like my god you are a Sage! Some girls are named Shaun/Sean/Shawn even though I do think it's a boy's name when I hear it.
