Ah, sorry, it is not just the "wealthy few" who have taken over our country It is the liberals who do not believe in the Constituion who have taken over our country. It is big Government. It is citizens who do not get out and vote. Politicians will promise anything to get elected. How can they "fix" the healthcare system? Where would the money come from? Simple: the tax payers. I don't know about you, but I am tired of paying for healthcare for people who do things that harm their health, then others have to pay for it. I am talking about smokers, drinkers, drug users, promiscuous sex offenders, grossly overweight persons.
If you want good health care, make everyone pay for their own. It's that simple.

The promise of healthcare for many and the threat of ending medicare for the elderly has been a political vote insurance policy for decades. There will never be free medical as people would abuse it and the need to take better care of ones self would erode. As bad as healthcare is here it actually frees up clinics and emergency rooms compared to if it all became free. For what we have wasted in iraq combined with the oil companys record profits that raise every fiscal quarter we could have free medical. That would mean we fixed the govt however and the work needed there could take a decade or more.

Because the elected officials are using up all the money on their Health Care needs and their pay raises.
And the PRESIDENT DOES NOT MAKE LAWS, Congress Does.... Why does everyone blame the president for something he has absolutely NO control over... Study the way our government works.

If you had better healthcare, it would mean that the people that are sick and can't afford to be with get the help they need. It may mean longer wait times for those that are rich and show up to ER with a bloody nose.
By letting the poor die, doesn't that make the country richer overall.
No one wants better health care, well, except the poor and the sick, luckily, there aren't many of them.

It is not their role to provide health care for all.
The wealthy have earned their money and if you want to be wealthy, you better get on it. What is stopping you? Stop being so envious already.
Wealth is not finite and is not some pie that gets distributed among the masses. Thank the wealthy dude, they pay most of the taxes that make this country go.

When you want to get elected, you have to make promises that will get people to vote for you. Why? Because people take things at face value. They don't care if it's realistic or not as long as it sounds good and when the voters act that way, those running have to say lies and make promises they can't keep so it's not totally their fault.

For the same reason they promise partisan politics, to balance the budget, lower taxes, cut unneeded spending, and everything else they blab about. They talk just to get you to vote for tem, then screw you ovwer because they owe their mortal souls to the coprorate lobbiests who bought and paid for their election victories. In the end they only care about getting elected, they could care less about the American people.

They want to get elected. And to do that they will say and do anything. But as for revolution you are nearer the mark than you realize. At least one of the founding fathers said that he fully expected that there would be mini-revolutions in the US to keep the politicians honest. he hasn't been right on that so far.

to answer your question, the reason why our elected officials always promise us something and never make good on it, it's because we the people are so easy in beliving there promise that there so confidence that we'll vote for them that they don't have to worry about making good on there promise because there in office already. we the people need to speak out load about, if we the people elect an official, then we the people can vote them out, and we sould stand on that in congress.
