Four of a kind beats a straight.

Five of a kind beats a Royal Flush (of course you need wild cards for this).

Order:
5 of a kind
Royal Flush
Straight Flush
4 of a Kind
Full House
Flush
Straight
3 of a kind
2 pair
1 pair

Okay friend - as long as it was at lunch, playing poker is okay as long as it has not been shot down by the bosses.
5 card stud poker is what I'm guessing you were playing:\
1) 4-of-a-kind beats a straight
2) 5-of-a-kind is only accomplished with wild cards (obviously) and I believe the top hand is 5-of-a-kind, then the Royal flush.
I hope this helps. I'll double check and get back to ya if I'm wrong.
Later :)

The two prior posts have the ranking absolutely correct so I just replied to say YAY as three of us totally agree!
