You have soft girl feet. I have calloused man feet that can walk on hot asphalt, rocks, and sand. That is how it should be.
I will carry you across the sand if it is too hot :-)

I can walk anywhere. I like gravel and rocky roads better than grass and sand, soft surfaces are sweet but I enjoy the rough stuff more. I also can clear brambles and thistles without any problem, and do hikes of about 7-10 miles (I'm not that much of a hiker, I've never taken walks longer than 10 miles at a time, I get bored after a couple hours. But I've done 10 miles, 4 days in a row, without getting even the least sore, so I could probably do more as far as my feet are concerned).
I've been barefoot full-time for ten years, but I've always had pretty tough feet. Even back when I was a kid and we were playing in the back yard, none of us would go barefoot anywhere but inside the house, at the pool & on hot days in the yard, and yet when the icecream man came I'd run across the gravel driveway without any problem and my friends would either put on their shoes or pick their way much more slowly. There does seem to be a bit of a difference in tougher or softer feet to start out from.

I don't like hot sand because it burns the arch and in between the toes. I can walk on hot rocky gravel asphalt (but not yet loose gravel) even when it pokes and scrapes the soles more. My favorite hot walking surface is even hotter smooth blacktop asphalt.
I make it a point to thoroughly burn my soles each summer day as close to or during the hottest afternoon hours, for getting more heat tolerance after each thorough burning. If I have to get past a heat limit sooner, I'll even burn the soles gradually enough to get blisters, since they will heal after few days and be much more heat tolerant. I just avoid third degree burns.

Yes I can. It comes from any years of going barefoot alot. Plus I was in the army for 3 years and so my feet got pretty toughned up from road marches and what not.

I live in the tropic's and walk barefeet everywhere round the home and down at the beach.
Wouldn't at malls or the city though.
My feet hurt sometimes... but can't stand to wear shoes!

I will if I have to... like if I'm too lazy to put on shoes or if I'm running out for something. Oh man, my boyfriend is real bad. We've been fixing up his moms house and it isnt the nicest and isnt in the nicest area and we've been doing the porch that has wood shavings and nails and stuff and then down in the back parking spot theres glass and all kinds of stuff. He'll walk anywhere without shoes and it freaks me out. One of these days hes gonna complain he stepped on something and then I'll just have to say "i told ya."

Could as a child, but have worn shoes for so long, I have lost my caluses. My doc would throw a fit if she caught me outside without shoes, she's even after me to wear them in the house. Just can't I like my cold floor in the summer.

I have very brave feet, but the hot hot sand isn't to my liking at all. Stones and stuff don't bother me too much....

I can walk on hot pavement, gravel, and it does not phase me. All the kids in the family have had no problem either. My nephew runs on rocks and it doesn't bother him at all, now that I can't do.
