Get a 3rd opinion and present to the 3rd doctor the results you got from the 1st and 2nd doctors. In this way the 3rd doctor could examine the facts and really find out what is really wrong with you.

If you have asthma, I do not think you would go to a surgeon. So approach a doctor who specializes in that region of your body.

Sounds like classic colic. If he's on a milk based formula, switch to a soy one, it might be a milk allergy, especially if one of the parents had a milk allergy. At 2 1/2 months, colic is almost over, it usually ends by or right around three months. (Then teething starts). We found a snugli helped. Going for walks. Reverse football hold (holding baby face downwards lying on fore arm with head at your elbow). We had a routine of different things to try, then we'd start again. Washing machine noise, dryer noise, going for a drive. The screaming is awesome. We made a recording of our daughter, I remember at the time thinking that she wasn't at full force. Months later we listened to the tape and were amazed at the sound of it. There is a tendancy to feed too much since they aren't screaming while they're nursing. That makes them spit up alot, they may feel bloated and gassy as well. Ovol drops for gas helped sometimes. But not that much. Get friends or family to spell you out for holding and walking him while he's screaming. You'll need a break. Good luck. The teen years will make this seem like the good old days.

I would definitely get a third opinion. Not something you want to fool with. Even if it is a pulled muscle, you'll need to do something about it.
