Why is when you put a Honda Car Alarm control near your throat, it extends the range of signal to car?

I was told this by a guy in the Honda dealership and it really works...but WHY???

Probably for the same reason that a radio or TV gets louder if you put your hand on it. Your skeleton and water in your body help amplify the signal. Your throat is just a more polite place to put the car alarm control.

You are transferring the radio signal to your skeleton. It acts as a large signal booster. You need to try it with one foot off the ground. It gets worse.
