I don't remember the title, but I know tihs guy wrote (his brother may have illustrated) a few books starring himself and his brother as children. In the illustrations of himself and his brother, his brother has a moustache (as a kid). One specific book I remember had something to do with visiting either their uncle or grandpa's house, and they played make believe.

If it helps I last read this book in 1991 or 1992.

I know the stories you mean. There were several. I can't remember the name, unfortunately. The brother was named Wally or something similar, I think. The same illustrator, or one with a similar style, did a book about a family of anthropomorphic dogs that go to the beach. I'm pretty sure the dog brothers were named Harry and Larry. I tried looking for that book, hoping it would prod my memory about the other one, but good luck hunting for "children's book" and "Harry" without getting deluged with "Harry Potter" results!
