LOL, the funny thing this is that the song "Que Sera Sera" has been stuck in my head all morning!

The lyrics:
When I was just a little girl
I asked my mother, what will I be
Will I be pretty, will I be rich
Here's what she said to me.

Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be.

When I was young, I fell in love
I asked my sweetheart what lies ahead
Will we have rainbows, day after day
Here's what my sweetheart said.

Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be.

Now I have children of my own
They ask their mother, what will I be
Will I be handsome, will I be rich
I tell them tenderly.

Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be.

I think we, as humans, have alot of control in our lives. Not complete control, but quite alot. If we have a "que sera sera" attitude all the time, we can miss out on great achievement brought to us by free will. Sure, some things we should sit back and let develop- but sometimes we cannot and should not. Though, with love (and there is even a verse about love in the above song) I do think that we should have a que sera sera type attitude. Sure, we should work on problems if its true love, but if it's just a crush or some person that you are iffy about, we should see what will be (as we can only do so much. It takes the other person, too..) So, I think we should have a strong mixture of both, but I slightly prefer more free will, hard work, and dedication over "que sera sera" living!

well, people with this kind of state of mind tend to be a bit more positive than those people who worry too much... they always prefer to look at the brighter side of things and maybe that's why there's this positive energy which almost always comes out from them...
but i think there might be a little hitch in this... there are times when you really have to evaluate situations, which means you have to review the facts, whether good or bad, and accept them as they are... we can't always live on optimism all the time... there is such a thing as an unrealistic optimism...

i think optimism and rationality should go together...

I am a quasi-que sara person and I must say that to me it feels wonderful to be accepting of the joys, perils and random nature of the world.

I think people
need to take
charge of their own
lives and responsbility
fit whatever happens

not just let things happen
go out and make them happen

I think they tend to be happier people because they accept the world as it is.
