You should be fine. The volume of blood lost during your period is not going to affect your ability to donate blood. It's good that you are drinking plenty of water, lots of people forget to do that before and after they donate blood. You won't pass out unless you are prone to such things anyway. Make sure you have a good meal before you donate, that will cut down on the chance that you will have any bad reactions to the donation.

you do not lose adequate blood throughout your menstrual cycle to make donating blood a topic, except you're anemic. those clinically determined with anemia are actually not allowed to donate blood. they'll attempt your hemoglobin formerly you donate. besides the certainty that it variety of sounds like a great variety of blood, the common era quantities to 3 35 ml blood loss - in basic terms slightly over a tablespoon. and that's substantial to remember that your era isn't a "surprising" blood loss - this is the laying off of the uterine lining that has geared up up over the final 28 or so days. Your physique has already "replaced" this small volume of blood by the time you have your cycle. this is not likely you may experience susceptible or ill from donating - they don't take adequate blood to reason this. some human beings do experience dizzy or faint - often from tension on the assumption of being caught with a needle. it fairly is why they have you ever in a reclining place once you donate. stay mendacity down for a couple of minutes once you donate in case you experience faint - it is going to bypass in the present day. Then, rejoice with the unfastened juice and cookies! consume a solid meal a pair of hours formerly you donate and drink a great variety of fluids. the only time I ever felt ill after donating blood grow to be when I skipped breakfast - stupid!!! as quickly as I ate, I felt extra helpful. solid success and thank you for being a blood donor.

You should be fine as long as you keep up the iron and fluids. Usally towards the end of your period is when your iron levels are a bit off especially if it heavy.

Good luck

you should be okay. They will test you for anemia and if your periods aren't exceptionally heavy it should not affect you. And if you're worried about passing out, don't get up right away and don't leave too fast. Make sure you have the OJ and cookie they give you when you're done. And don't do anything strenuous afterward.

Most women only lose a few tablespoons of blood during their period (although it seems like more). I would highly doubt that you would pass out from blood loss, but if it's in your mind, you might pass out anyway (psychological).
