I saw them in concert in 1988 and I thought they were tired then. I can only imagine what they feel now.

I hope they haven't gotten tired of singing the songs that have been great for 30 to 40 years. I still like them.

Unlike some classic rock & roll groups, such as
The Beatles, The Beach Boys--or, as I prefer to
think of them, The Beach Men, since contrary to
popular belief, they did not launch their singing
careers as teen-agers--decided not to change
with the imes.
So, to answer to your question: definetly not;
that's why I, personally, (having grown up in
the days they were the most popular, long before
lead vocalist Brian Wilson suffered a nervous
breakdown, causing him to leave the group),
have the utmost respect for them.
They've been through a lot; and most of it was
anything "fun, fun, fun!"

I thought it had been 50 or 60 years! Oh well, I only have 20 or 30 more years of listening beach boy pleasure to go. I really feel for the people in California! I bet they feel like they get a double dose of it.

Those people you are referring to are not The Beach Boys. The Beach Boys in their original form do not exist. The only original member of the band that still tours with the group is Mike Love. Other members are deceased, while Brian Wilson, the creative centre of the group, no longer performs with the group. Essentially, Mike Love and the anonymous fat guys in hawaiian shirts that tour as "The Beach Boys" are just cashing in on Brian Wilson's creative legacy.

No, because they love the songs they sing.. Those songs are who they are, they have become their songs.. and they sing those songs for all those people that have loved them and their songs for the same many years and will go on loving them for the same many years,. Those songs speak to the many fans, and remind them of their their youth, their first loves, their first cars, their school days, their friends etc... you can't beat that..A song that has lived through a person's life, through thick and thin, is like a part of that person, a beacon of hope.. That person becomes that song, in many ways.
.That is how I see it.

Yeah I think the groups who have been famous for a long time love the songs they have created, but want to move on and leave that part of their career behind. But I'm sure when they go broke they have no problem singing those songs to make some more money!

I am sure they do. That's one reason bands will play new music during concerts; the other reason is to promote their new releases. I know I get tired of the Beach Boys playing their same old songs and I get tired of hearing them on Oldies stations.

Not as long as the money keeps rolling in! There are still CD's, residuals, and all sorts of marketing out there to keep them popular and singing! I love them! God Bless!

Yes, and the rest of the world is tired of hearing them. I personally think it's time for a new hit from them because they are talented.
