The equation must be in standard form before we can apply quadratic formula
a x^2 + bx + c = 0
-4x^2 + 5x - 1 = 0
a = -4
b = 5
c = -1
x = [ - b +/- sqrt(b^2 - 4ac) ] / (2a)
- 5 +/- sqrt (25 - 4(-1)(-4) )
______________________
2*-4
-5 +/- sqrt(9)
__________
-8
-5 +/- 3
_______
8
-5 + 3 = -2
________ = -2/8 = -1/4
8
-5 - 3 = -8
________ = -8/8 = -1
8
ANSWERS ARE x= - 1 and x= - 1/4

Quadratic Formula- x= -b + or - the sqaure root of b^2-4ac all over 2a
5x-4x^2=1
5x-4x^2-1=0
-4x^2+5x-1=0
x=-5+3 over 2*-4
x=-2 over -8
simplifies to
x=1/4
x=-5-3 over 2*-4
x=-8 over -8
simplifies to
x=1
Your Answer Is:
x=1/4
x=1
100% sure

4x² - 5x + 1 = 0
x = [ 5 ± √(25 - 16) ] / 8
x = [5 ± √9 ] /8
x = 8/8 , x = 2 / 8
x = 1, x = 1/4
Or by factorising:-
(4x - 1).(x - 1) = 0
x = 1 , x = 1/4
