No, there is no reason why you shouldn't DATE someone. The point of dating is to learn more about the person you initially feel physical attraction towards.
There are, however, plenty of reasons to not pursue a relationship with someone. :P

I probably wouldn't date anyone who
- has children
- has a criminal record
- has DUIs/DWIs
-is an addict (drinks too much, smokes cigarettes, is a pothead,etc does other drugs)
-can't hold a job or support themselves financial
-is a player type who needs constant attention form different women/men all the time

I just went threw this, was dating for about 8 weeks, and the truth came out that he is mentally unstable, that ended very abruptly!! Thank God!
