Take the War in Iraq for example. Arabs are killing Arabs over tribal territorial squabbles dating back centuries of hate and pursecution. Shiite hate Suni and both hate Kurds. Bush has seen fit to hold our Soldiers there knowing they're caught in the crossfire.

Northern Ireland has just settled a peace between Protestant and Catholic Irish. If it's not race, politics or religion the world would be a peaceful place.

It exists around the globe, but it's a local problem. That is, it's a different problem in each area, not just a matter of degree.

In the US, for instance, racism by whites against 'minorities' is kept in check by numerous laws, and generally looked down upon (to put it mildly) rather than actively supported. In other countries, racism is tollerated, and in still others, it is legally enshrined. Who is 'racist' against whom also varies wildly. In the part of the US where I live, I am occassionally mistaken for hispanic, and have faced a nearly trivial degree of racism from time to time as a result. However, were I to move to a certain other state, my actual ethnic heritage would open me up to somewhat more pronounced racism (which I was surprised to learn, fortunately, I've never had occassion to go there).

Yes it happens all over the world. It even appears with people of the same race... but the root of the problem is global ignorance.
