It definitely sounds like reflux, which if he already has it...he may have outgrown his dosage. In that case, you would just need to call his doctor and let him know. Or he could be like my daughter who was breastfed, and the medicine never worked for her. We spent 2 weeks of pure chaos and her in alot of pain before we were pointed towards a natural remedie by a friend. It is called Gripe Water and even though it used to only be available in health food stores, I swear I saw it at Kroger once a while back. IT WAS A MIRACLE. We used it along with frequent burpings and sitting her up after she was fed. She never acted like she was in pain anymore and even though she still spit up alot, it didn't really seem to bother her. And the price was right too, our insurance didn't cover Zantac because it had to be compounded into liquid, so we paid close to 60 dollars a bottle for it and it never worked. The Gripe water is about 12 dollars a bottle and I don't even think we ever went past the 2nd bottle. It is also great for gas. Hopefully some of this helps and good luck.

This is a problem i had with all my babies. It is gas usually. My littlest ( now 22 months old) also had reflux and was on reflux. Try burping him more frequently . My son had to have prevacid along with the zantac as well. If it continues I would call his dr just in case.

This is exactly what my firstborn did and she was on zantac for really bad reflux. They switched her formula and it helped a little. My dr said it had to do with the reflux and that it was eroding her esophagus so every time she ate or burped it would be really painful. They switched her formula to Alimentum. Like I said it helped but she did not outgrow the reflux until she was about 7 months.

forget the gas drops!
it sounds like he may have a gastrointestional irration going on. consult a pediatric gastroenterologist. he is in serious pain, and the zantac may not be working.
then agian, he may be allergic to the breast milk, or the formula that you are feeding him. so 1) talk to your doc about switching his formula, and 2) consult a peds gastroenterolgist.
I hope he feels better!

This is probably gas pains give him some gas drops (Mylicon) for the pain. Burping him often during feeding should help also. If you bottle feed you should burp about every 1-2 ounces for a new baby. Hope this helps. The Mylicon should help please try it.

All good answers, He could also have developed an intolerance to the formula you're using.
Since he's already under medical supervision for his gut, speak to your doctor before making any changes.
