You would have an easier time winning the lottery. Self published books are not considered published. Anyone who has money can self publish a book. It does not make you a published author in the eyes of publishers, editors, agents or anyone else. It just makes you vanitity published. You published a book for your own ego, Oprah's books are all either classics or books published by major publishing houses. She would never even read a self published book.
Those are the issues with self publishing. It leads you nowhere. I must post that here twenty times a day. All it gets you is a box of books to sell to family and friends. It gets you NO support, NO ISBN number usually and your books are on NO bookshelves in stores and often not even available online at Amazon and B and N. Not without an ISBN number, and you cannot purchase one yourself because you are not a publisher. I have seen MANY people go deep into debt trying to promote self published books. I think you can count on one hand the number of self published books that were later picked up by a major publisher, It just doesnt happen. That is why I speak out against self publishing every chance I get.
Traditional publishing can take years. Gone with the Wind was rejected 50 times. I believe James Patterson was rejected 61 times. So many of you take the easy way out and self publish. It is a huge mistake. You would be better off getting those 60 rejection letters and waiting for a break. If your material is good, you will get one. Self publishing is the joke of the publishing industry. A lot of companies are getting rich making books for people who cant sell them anywhere.
Get Writers Market and learn the traditional publishing business the right way. Self publishing is a waste of time and money - lots of money. Pax - C

I would guess the answer is, you don't.
Publishing companies spend a lot of money and effort to get Oprah's attention, because it can boost sales. That's tough to compete against, no matter how good your book is.
So, write a good book, get noticed, and maybe you'll pick up a publisher down the road. Then, you can think about Oprah.

In an episode of "Oprah After the Show", she told the audience that she personally chooses the books for her book club. They are books she has read and touched her in some way. She mentioned that she rarely reads any of the books that are sent to her.
Sorry, but I seriously doubt that you stand a chance of 1) getting her to read your book and 2) having her choose if for her book club.

She is more likely to respond to a book from a major publisher than a self-published book.

Send Oprah a copy of your book along with a letter explaining what the book is about. Then, it's up to her.
