Spyware and etc. can be implanted on your computer and yes....if you do not have the right protection. I would recommend getting spyware nuker or another spyware program and scan your computer.

Also, a great program to buy is McAfee VirsScan 2007. It also protects you from keyloggers and viruses; also, there is an update service that is free with it, so it is a great deal. Viruses be gone!

Simple answer is "yes." Oftentimes, it begins with an e-mail message. The message contains a link which directs you to a malicious website which can download a Trojan Horse (i.e. keylogger) on to your computer. Of course, you also have your so called "drive by downloads," where a software program is downloaded on to your computer without any actions on your part. The latter are the most dangerous. By far the most common way to get infected is to download stuff using file sharing, such as Kazaar or Limewire. Despite popular belief, the vast majority of keyloggers are downloaded manually by the computer user. The user thinks it is the latest hit from Shakira or a pirated movie...Big Mistake. If your computer is connected to the Internet, you need to install at least a firewall, antivirus and anti spyware program on your computer. Trust me it will save you alot of grief.
