I want to provide him with some movement in the water plus I like the way it looks too. The pump I have hooked up to my skeleton guy is really for a 5 gallon tank. Do they make a pump for a 2.5 gallon tank and would it make less air bubbles so my fish can not be distured so much. Right now I have the bubble thing turned off, but I really like my skelton guy and wnat to start him bubbling again. Any suggestions? Would strong bubbling water be ok for goldfish?
Thanks.

It should be just fine. As long as he's not having problems swimming there is no need to worry about it. If it' giving him a hard time you can get a smaller air pump or get a gang valve and bleed off the extra air. You can get those at any decent pet shop.

Bettas are not huge fans of moving water, and are poor swimmers. Also it may prevent him for constructing bubble nests. That said it won't kill him.

PS- Goldfish are unsuitable tank mates for betta. Plus without a true filter a 2.5 gallon is unsuitable for more than a single betta. You really need tank larger tha5 gallons to keep a betta with other fish. Also goldfish and betta have different temp needs betta need it in the 75-85F range, and goldfish below 73F.

Any bubbles are to much bubbles for a beta, especially in that small of a tank. The only bubbles to be used are from a sponge or under gravel filter in a min 10 gallon tank. Beta's don't like current nor do they need their water oxygenated.

your beta should be fine with the 5 gallon tank bubbler. beta fish have lungs so they can breath air from the top too so don't put a lid on your tank so if it doesn't work out it's fine to not have a bubbler
