Say your kids keep acting up and won't listen to anything you say, what do you do?
Spanking? Whipping with a belt? That would be my choice, to shut those kids up.

First ask yourself if you were being reasonable. If you were to switch position with them, would you have acted up also?
If you are reasonable and sure that the kids are wrong, discipline them by taking their privileges away and make sure that they know the reasons why. Spanking and whipping won't help because what it really means to them is you could not convince them that they are wrong and you decide to suppress them by violence. If that's the way you want your kids to solve problems when they grow up, its' your choice.
Something for you to think about: you will grow old, and your kids now will take care of you like taking care of a little kid. Expect the same sort of treatments from them if you act up and won't listen.

Time out, and a limitation on privileges until they show a little decent behavior, remember duckies, we're not punishing kids, we're teaching them how to behave, and sometimes the amount of anger they drive us to, is not not not the appropriate measure of which to dole up their sentence.

take everything out of their room that they enjoy except for a bed and send them to it. Why punish yourself with whipping them that's too tiring, send them to their rooms.

That is child abuse. Try a time out in a boring place. No talking, and the timer gets reset every time they open their mouth.

We try time outs first. If they don't stay in time-out, they get their butts swatted. If they still don't listen, it's naptime.
