Well even though I have always despised both Bush and Cheney, I feel like it is okay for a US president to make reference to God and to say God Bless. I don't think he is sincere but that's not the issue. No it's not against the Constitution. Our dollar bills say "In God We Trust" for crying out loud.
Separation of church and state is important concepts in the states. it is an attemp to avoid inequity in public administration and the same type of religious intolerance that we did not appreciate under british rule. However, the fact that many people in the audience are not theists is completely irrelevant. if every person in the audience were taken into account in such an overly sensitive manner, not one single word could be spoken. you are assuming that he is refering to the christian god. though i think you are right, you are still just assuming.
i would not like to live in a world where god were neveer spoken of just because someone might be offended. would you? what if you could never hear about allah at all because someone listening in would be offended by it?

Well, that is like saying don't eat meat if vegetarians are present? I think God Bless is a good thing to say any time.
Also Muslim God ( Allah) , is the same as Christian God and all others. Only One God.
God Bless.

G.W. Bush is a living, moving rock...more like a small pebble than a thinking human. He certainly appears to have severely damaged what may have been a brain in the past. I cannot say much more for the Democrats after yesterday's vote. All politicians are bags of lies and self agrandizement.

The God he is referring to is the one true God. The same God for all Christians and Jews and Muslims.

Our country was built on the premise of freedom of religion. There are even religious sayings on our coins. It is our right to hold up God everywhere, just like you have the right not too. Guess who will win in the end?
