First, get comfortable with yourself when you're not wearing a lot of make-up. Everyone looks good if their make-up looks like they're going out--but that's not entirely practical for every day. So if you wear, say, a lot of eyeliner every day, then when you take it off your eyes will not be as striking--but this is okay, and you have to kind of get used to yourself looking like this. I know it's hard.
As for what you can wear, all you really need for every day is: concealer (undereye/blemishes), a VERY light foundation or tinted moisturizer (if you can go without this, even better!), sunscreen (obviously), lip gloss, a light-colored eye-shadow (not black), and mascara (this can be black). Not knowing your complexion, I can't recommend specifics, but light brown or bronze eye-shadow is good for summer. Eye-liner during the day is a little much, so if you do wear it make sure it's a) not black and b) very light.
Remember, the girl was probably wearing some make-up...mainly because Abercrombie and Fitch forces you to wear make-up, you just didn't notice because she did it well. Go to a make-up counter and ask for a natural eye-shadow that makes your eyes pop, some concealer and tinted moisturizer, and you should be good to go.

Hey girl! It's all about application...and like you said, confidence. Maybe she had it so artfully applied that you couldn't tell she had any makeup on! Which is how it should be. Or maybe she really did have perfect skin, and you can get it too. It's summer! Give your skin some breathing time- cut back on all makeup on your skin and keep it fresh and well moisturized by keeping up with your skin care routine (cleanse, tone, moisturize) and drinking plenty of water to flush out any impurities. Within no time, you'll be saying hello to a whole new radiant you. And you can stop wearing makeup too. At first it's gonna seem really weird since you've been wearing it for a while now, but you can start by toning it down bit by bit. For example, wear a soft brown pencil liner- only fill in the sparse areas in between your lashes. Try a clear mascara (if you must) or a dark brown one instead of harsh black. Wear bronzer (on your nose, the apples of your cheeks, your forehead/temples, slightly on the swell of your chin) instead of blush. Or choose a very light color (one that blends very well into your own natural flush) and maybe a sweep or two of that. Find a foundation that matches very closely to your own skin tone (try mineral- it's good for your skin too!) and apply sparingly- only on areas that need it, as concealer. Or just try a tinted moisturizer. Skip eyeshadow altogether- if you have to, just apply some of your foundation lightly. A (un)tinted lipbalm, and you're all set to go! The key is application: if you can't tell you have any makeup on, chances are others won't be able to either. So wear everything in moderation, and you'll be gorgeous! Hope this helps :)

Don't stress it, she probably was wearing makeup. If you get the right brands (that blend so smoothly it doesn't cake) and the right shades (that look natural and blend in with your natural skin tone to hide only the blemishes and unevenly toned parts of your skin) then you can look like your not wearing any makeup. I have worn Clinique SPF Foundation and been told that it looks like I'm not wearing any makeup. Investing in some makeup that works is worth it. Expensive makeups aren't always the best, but even if you do buy them and they don't work, a good store will do returns if you say it caked too much or wasn't the right shade. (Sears and Shoppers and The Bay do this). Also by not wearing mascara you can really tone down and make your face look natural. You can buy neutral eye shadows to make you look like you are not even trying to look dolled up. If it is your complexion you struggle with like many of us (because your face is blotchy due to redness or your skin is just an uneven colour on your face - you know too pale in one area or just not a lot of pigment because you're not tanned) then you can buy moisturizers and creams that help to put melatonin(I think thats what the vitamin that gives your skin pigment is called) into your skin to even it out. If you suffer from acne then I suggest Pro Active because it works (I use it)! Also if you are worried that your foundation cakes and looks fake then make sure you moisturize your face twice everyday after you wash it!

Not everyone is born equal.
Some are prettier, smarter, richer, poorer, more driven, lucky, or just not as lucky.
Don't compare yourself to someone like this girl you mentioned because although she looks perfect, with her perfect hair, lack of makeup and clothing, does not mean that her LIFE is perfect. Heck, she might even be a beyotch that steals your boyfriends and sleeps around! Or not.
The point is, don't compare.
You have your life, she has hers.
Live your life, make the most of it, and be happy and thankful for the things you have.
Think of it THIS way: there are a ton of people who have it a LOT worse then you.
Okay, rant done. LOL
Do your makeup, hair and clothing the way YOU like it.
What makes you feel confident is different from what makes someone else feel confident.
Take care of your skin. Get a good skincare regimen.
Exercise daily, don't smoke, and don't do drugs.
Do well in school and at your job (if you have one), and maintain good relationships with your family and the people who matter to you.
Have a good hobby, like sports, music, acting, painting, etc. That makes you happy, and will give you satisfaction other then the way you look.
Self confidence comes from BOTH looks and one's personality and interests.
Hope I helped !
=)

u kno wats not fair.. that u can shop at abercrombie in the first place.. & she probaly was wearing make up cuz as far as i kno u have 2. okay.. about ur question im not going 2 be all sarcastic i like 2 look natural & it looks just as cute [kinda cuter acutally] as when i pile it on 2 go out or suthing. [people think i dont wear make up hehe] my every day routine is mascara on curled lashs, a tiny bit of eyeliner around the outter corners, & chap stick or light pink lip gloss. u can amp it up just a tinny bit, by applying a cute light color eyeshadow & youl still look simple & nautaral yet so so pretty =] hope this helps!! ps/ make up is only made 2 ENHANCE your natural beauty. its not made 2 put a ton on. like u soud insecure so if u are so insecure then try 2 distract away from wat ever you dont like.. or fixed it up a bit. u cant change your features but u can use make up 2 create illusions of better looking features.. i am soo into this lol becuase ive done alot of it myself. wat it really takes is alot of experimenting 2 find a routine thats perfect for u.

I would first try wearing lighter makeup then not use as much of something like if you use a base hit the high spots only instead of your whole face. if you use eyeliner tone it down. Omit one thing at a time.
I am sure you are much prettier then you give yourself credit for we are our own worst critics. Go one day with naked skin whooo hooo and scream I am a new girl hear me roar! What is the worst thing that could happen?
