Well, there are a number of things you can do that will deter rodents from digging in your garden. You can add some red pepper to the soil the next time you till your garden. You can also add dituminous earth (DE) to the soil this will also deter many insects from getting to your plants as well. Just make sure not to get any on you. You can also try electronic rodent deterent devices...they're kind of like electronic pest control devices, except that they go outside and are batery powered. try these things first and if that don't help, call a pest control specialist.

We have a solution that we have used for years and kept rodents such as moles out of our yards. Take a 20 foot long stick and put a spinning device with a vain of some kind on the other end. and stick it in the ground. Whenever th wind blows, it causes the spinner to spin, causing a vibration that the rodents can't stand.

What type of rodent is digging? Most likely they are digging to find grubs, so if you eliminate the grubs, you eliminate the rodent. If they are digging because of decomposing veggies, you need to start a compost pile to put the veggies in. Are they eating crops? If they are, you need to repel or kill the thief.

Try getting a vicious CAT!

A dog may work equally, as well.

A good .22 cal. is also effective.

There are also products such as "get off my garden" which work mostly on larger animals, but you can chech the local horticulture store for alternatives!

You could take some old garden hose and cut it to a length that looks like a snake... you could put a fake owl in your garden and you could put some shinny spinny things in your garden.... all of these will detour all those pesky pests....
