An opinion is open to question or doubt...

If the mafia/yakuza etc, ran 7-11, would you buy from them? Could it be said that your money was supporting a criminal organisation and that you are therefore responsible for perpetuating criminal activities? That you are benefiting from the misery of the victims etc?

If a particular item is produced by slaves, and you buy it, could it be said that you support slavery? That you make a direct profit from the misery of the current slaves, and help to create more slaves? Can a man trade with a slave without directly benefiting his master?

Is communism a system of state slavery?

It doesn't matter what the law is, you are morally responsible for every dollar you spend... If everyone refused to financially contribute to communism on principle, Wal-mart and other supporters of 'cheap labour' would be 'forced' to trade with free people or close down...

Wal-Mart has done more to fight inflation over the last 20 years than the Federal Reserve Board. Yes, salaries and health benefits can be on the low side for many, but at least it's a job that can lead to better things.

I'm not saying Wal-Mart should invade every small town in America, but clearly it's been an amazing success story.

Wal-Mart is actually doing lot to go 'green'. That's something people like. But they have very aggressive price cutting tactics that make people angry, but this may not be so straight forward. There's no question Wal-Mart prefer to have Chinese made cheap craps in their stores, but Wal Mart isn't the only corporation that uses laborers over seas.

There's interesting PBS show I saw on Wal Mart. Should watch this too. You can watch it online.

the employees to not like wall mart policies not enough pay. i think people should not support it because of that and it needs competition it is good for all place to have some. if it winds up only option what will people do if unsatisfied with quality of purchases. i think money should be spent elsewhere as well like at local merchants or other stores . this does occur but not enough. one thing wall mart can not be blamed for is forcing out an iga i know of or the woodwards zellers replaced that so wallmart was not responsible.

Wal Mart is bad for the economy and your community it has poorer quality mechandise, totally wipes out jobs of many small business's and once they get everywhere they want to be they will have a monopoly and we will pay what they want for product just like the oil companies do with gas we all shop there whats our choice. I myself always try to go elsewhere if possible especially for groceries there meat is aweful!!!
