There's no way to cover it, darling. It's already a part of our country. You can just close your eyes if you don't like to see it but it will still be there. When I was travelling to one of the beautiful islands in Phils. last year, I was amazed by the beauty of it but when I go inside the island & met the locals, I feel pity with those people who survive living on a nipa hut that a strong torm will for sure blow them all away. Even those European tourists with us commented about it & they can't wait to leave the next day coz their heart can't tolerate such sight of real poverty. It's breaking their heart just the sight of it & how much more me as the real Filipino. I can feel their misery but that's life...C'est la Vie.

Robert: Enough said. That's why afer expressing my thoughts about the mastermind of all dufus trolls. I just say a prayer for its lost soul. (--,)

Well, you're jumping into a conclusion. You're answer is way too far from the asker's Q. I got an email from the asker hours ago and some of the answerers here but all of them doesn't mention something about YAP & your trolls.

READ THE Q AGAIN & CONTEMPLATE IF YOUR ANSWER REALLY FITS WITH THE ASKER'S Q.

The asker is trying to say something about Philippine's tourism & not about your trolls & misery. Very Pathetic. If you want to be heard then post a Q where you can express your constipations. It's not Robert who's asking for answers. So use your common sense, please! Your paranoia is overflowing! If you do get what I mean.

It's a city of contrasts. There are 500,000 people in the rather condensed area of Long Beach. There are welfare recipients and people that live in multimillion dollar homes with huge yachts moored to their personal boat docks. It's very diverse as other people have said. There is a large gay population and on the other end of the spectrum there are some pretty notorious gangs in LBC. There are people from all over the world that live here, especially immigrants from Laos, Vietnam, Mexico and Cambodia. Most of the neighborhoods were built in the early 1900's to the 1950's and there are some really cute homes, apartments and shopping areas. Some of the neighborhoods are nice and others are very run-down and scary. There aren't any oil refineries or chemical plants in Long Beach. They are in neighboring Torrance, Signal Hill, San Pedro and Wilmington. The beaches in Long Beach are always some of the most polluted in the area. They receive 'F' ratings yearly so don't start thinking that you will be going to school in a 'beach' city. Nobody goes to the beach in Long Beach.

It is a fact that the Philippines is a third world country. So don't think that other people only perceive philippines as a country with great beaches etc. The first thing that comes in mind is the poverty that has been there for years. It is very careless of you to state (implicitly) and gloss over the clutters of what you have thought about the Philippines as a Glorious nation. It is poverty that should be shown in the world, not to create symphaty but to make people aware that poverty. oppression, corruption is present in a country more than the beauty of it.!

i don't think so.. in every person there's blemishes, just like in every countries they also have squatters, nothing to hide. when you go picture taking are you hide something also that is not good to see? so, be true to yourself and you can move on properly, the fact is.. show all what we have here and let those eyes of the tourists or anyone who sees decide if they want to go here or not. No need to betray them that we only have good looking sites, let them all know what we have, the positive sides and the negative sides too. there's no rich people if there's no poor. don't you know that one of the owner of the best resorts here in our country came from squatter area only. And if you're artistic, squatters are the most beautiful figure to paint. because in their inner world there's something in heart.. THEY KNOW HOW TO LOVE AND HELP EACH OTHER.

Yeah your right but we are also destroying our beaches and killing our butanding. In the future squatters area and dead beaches are all we're goin' to show if we don't act now.

You got the point, but sad to say, other people do not know what best marketing practices are.
If we sell something, we have to show a good package while admitting that it may not be a perfect product.
Other people are only good at finding mistakes, difficiencies, infractions in the interest of truth so they said, but poor in coming up a beautiful product.
I join your crusade.

I would agree. The Philippines is a very beautiful country, and the people there are very friendly. I have traveled there and enjoy it. The food is really good. Cheers.

don't you know that squatters are an attraction too?
take brazil for example. there's a trend that people are going to see the slums.
it's reality people want to see now, the glitz and pretty sceneries, big cities, everyone's seen it. nearly half the world live in cities now.
people want to see the real thing, the slums and squatters.
let them be!

People, people... let's all just get along. No need to threaten each other over the internet. Everybody's a nobody here.

Let's just all sit down together and enjoy a cold bottle of San Miguel Beer... because iba ang may pinag samahan!
or something like that.

Then, why dont you criticise the ugly face of the president who is travelling around the world. Her name and face is synonymous with corruption, stealing, incompetence.

She is the reflection of how ugly the Philippines is.
