i'm trying to restore my computer due to viruses........i've done this millions of times, i just pop in the restoration cd and wait till it tells me to insert the 2nd one....well today i tried doing that again and it stops at about 2 percent and then tells me "could not read from image file".......now i can't use the computer at all because the process was started but wasn't finished.....any help is appreciated.....thanks.

(i have windows xp and it says its a vpr matrix if that helps)

Hi. If it's any help, the VPR matrix usually has to do with memory. Have you tried Safe Mode? Press F8 repeatedly during boot. (444 in Morse?)

hey the one above me is rite ... ur windows restore cd is busted !!! cant help it now !!! only thng u cn do now is call up the brand of your computer make to come 2 ur place n install this for u coz u cant install windows now wid the cd u have !!! its just good for nuthin !!! happened to ma frnd once !! they took a lil charge and gave him a new restore cd !! but plz plz plz plz normal windows cd is much better !! my advise will b to get a normal windows disc without the restore .!!! the restore window make ur pc sooooooooo slow !!!!

Your restore CD has a problem or is scratched and can't read from it. When it gets to 2% it then hangs and doesn't go any further because it can't read the CD.

You may have to reformat your harddrive. Wipe it clean and start over from new. Then install your operating system again.
