I love the name Deacon - it's an old word (for a member of the clergy below that of a priest) - but it still has a really modern feel to it. Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillipe named their son this - and Don Johnson used it for his son too - so it's becoming more popular. I believe the name means "messenger." :-)

Definately Hudson if choosing from the two. The first thing I think of when I hear Deacon is a Deacon in a Catholic church. As for Hudson, I think of the river and the bay. Just letting you know what people might think of when they hear your child's name (At least with Hudson, the name was first then the river and bay)
