I don't get it. No two people are ever going to agree on anything... Why can't they make a party that consists of representatives from all the groups, that way all the opinions are brought to the table, and we can compromise.

We already have that system...it's called democracy but we are in danger of losing it if we continue to let the mass media tell us what to think.

There are different focus when the government makes decisions. The balance between freedom and fairness, between tradition and change, between corporations and individuals... these are the choices that each government must make. And that's why there are different parties: It's like a "brand" that leans in certain directions when decisions are made.
