How much is an average pfaff sewing machine?

Pfaff sewing machine mechanisms, as well as a number of other big-bux brands, are made by the Brother factory. when they do quality control testing, the best ones are given the Brother name, and the ones that are just ok are given the other brand names. Brother sewing machines will cost 1/4 the price, and be higher quality.

Don't know, but my wife always said that they are nice machines. Check some internet sites to get a ballpark. Then go to local sewing cdnters to compare prices. One advantage to buying locally is service. If you are new to owning a machine, then adjusting could be a pain without assistance from someone that knows about sewing machines.

I've never heard of that brand. I had a Brother that died pretty quickly. I currently have a Singer that I just love. Make sure the machine is made to handle whatever sewing it is that she does. Quilting, applique, clothes and general all have their own little quirks for what they need in a machine.
