Simple is best, when a person goes on and on it tends to be uncomfortable. The statement of fresh painting? Well, I have never heard it but it doesn't sound like a bad thing, a compliment. Better than "your like watching paint dry" that would be boring.

I suppose so...I'm thinking more along the lines that I like compliments on my mind rather than my smile or how my hair looks....compliments on my writing may be more simple, in a way, than a compliment on my looks....did that make any sense at all???? Hehehe :)
