Yes, you can wear black and gray together - as long as they are of obviously different shades, so it doesn't look as if one is faded.
I would add a bright accent [ hair, belt, purse, or shoes ] somewhere for contrast.

black is a neutral . You can wear a black shirt with any color pants. Gray is a neutral. you can wear gray pants with any color shirt.

I like it.. Grey pants do not clash with black like pink does with red.. And besides, alot of other color combinations that used to be fashion faux pau, like black with brown, are now current trends.. so rock the grey and black girl
