Your real Dad is the guy who raised you, not necessarily the guy who donated the sperm. I'd seriously question your source of information. It would be a very unique relationship for two people to remain married in a sexless marriage for that long. Unless there is some health issue or other over riding reason. I guess the bottom line is..So what? If they are happy, you should be.

Well if they haven't fooled around since before you were born, then yes. But sometimes parents over state things so maybe it feels like 20 years but is more like 5.

If this is seriously an issue to you, you should ask your parents about it. Your father is the person who raised you, whether or not he is a biological relation. Whatever youdecide to do, be sure not to disrespect your parents. This is their personal life.
Often times, as people get older and very comfortable in their marriage, the sex act is not as important to them anymore. My folks have been married over 40 years, and I don't know when and if they do that anymore. It's just not a big deal like it is when we are young.

Maybe not. The person who gave you this info may have had their numbers/years wrong. It happens that way sometimes. Couples grow apart sexually, but remain close as mates/friends. After a while, my parents had their own bedrooms, but they were together everyday for many years! In fact, one of the more embarrassing moments of my life....I walked into one of their bedrooms just to get the TV Guide. It was later that I realized that I had walked in on them! Memories of pajama pants on the floor beside the bed and the look on their faces which said....."Yeah, get what you want and get out of here!" still haunt me to this day. I didn't know whether to say "GO FOR IT" or "Ewwwwww"!

Well think positive he might not be your real dad but he has been with you and your mom for your entire life so it still makes him your dad. It also relates to foster parent it's the same way.

Hence, the "about 20 years." Maybe he isn't your dad. Although in all likelihood he is since he would have put 2 and 2 together and he'd be gone.

So long as neither of them are having sex with you, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Notice the "about 20 years" part, for all you know they quit having sex after they had you so you could be freaked out over nothing, and you probably are.

yeah it does. so you need to figure out if you really want to know whether or not you were adopted or whether your mom was with someone else, or maybe your dad was with someone that had you outside of the relationship, and your mom went along with it and took you in as her own, or whatever may be the case.
do you really, truly want to know after all of these years. you deserve to know the truth, but be careful what you ask for.

Well that is what it means. Are you sure the person who told this to you is correct?
It really is a question you need to ask your Mom or Dad.
Don't you think?
