Yes. I am a lifelong Roman Catholic. Went to Catholic school, too. The priests were my friends and protectors. They never took advantage of my trust in the many different parishes I've been involved with. The Pope would be gentle with children. The anti-Catholic sentiment behind this question can be addressed by noting that children are far more likely to be abused by secular figures (in my area, the primary culprit is the child's own family, followed by sports coaches), and the Catholic Church is not the only place on the planet that clerical abuse occurs. When I was abused as a child myself, it was the priests who tried to lend me help and comfort.

It is not that I dont not like them but they just have a really bad rap right now and it is going to take a really long time for people to trust any of them again. SO with that my answer would be no.

oh hell no! I don't have kids but if I did, I would not allow a priest or a pope to get anywhere near them!

no!!! actually i dont really trust anyone with my kids...especially a stranger! i dont care wether he's the pope or the priest!
