My husband used to work at a cemetary. "Graveyard shift" even. He had a lot of fun. You meet intersting people and hear a lot of stories. Just be friendly, and don't be scared to show some sympathy. Good luck!

Sales, sales, sales. it's all about selling the higher end casket, grave liner and other accoutrements. I took a job as a grief counselor and ended up selling things to people. you will also have to be comfortable doing pre-death burial sales. ie pre-planning. there's a lot of money in that. it's a tough place to work, especially where the cemetery is on a high water table. when you did one plot, the seapage from the others can be smelt. i am not kidding. i thought a skunk had died nearby and then i realized after asking my boss what the stink was. and it was during a funeral. not pleasant.
